After several weeks of deployment in the field, our teams and engineers have finalized the installation of smart ticketing systems and CAD/AVL (Computer-Aided Dispatch / Automatic Vehicle Location) aboard the new buses in the city of Benslimane. The network is now fully operational: on-board electronic ticketing, real-time fleet tracking, and passenger information thanks to TarikGo, our next-generation ticketing and mobility application. With this deployment, Somayar confirms its position as a leading player in bus ticketing and CAD/AVL/PIS systems in Morocco, in a city set to play a prominent role on the international stage.
Benslimane, a city in full transformation
Long perceived as a simple buffer zone between Casablanca and Rabat, the province of Benslimane is now establishing itself as one of the most dynamic territories in the Kingdom. Its strategic geographical location, at the heart of the country's busiest axis, makes it a natural bridge between the two metropolises and much more.
Benslimane is preparing to enter world sports history: the city will host the Grand Stade Hassan II, set to become the largest stadium in the world, ahead of the 2030 World Cup co-hosted by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal. As reported by the daily newspaper Aujourdโhui le Maroc, the province is already developing a Sustainable Urban and Interurban Mobility Plan (PMUID) to address a dual challenge: managing the exceptional passenger flows associated with the World Cup and laying the foundations of an integrated, sustainable mobility system for its 230,000 residents. Equipping the bus network of such a city is a responsibility we take very seriously.
On an institutional level, the province has also equipped itself with a new governance tool: the Sociรฉtรฉ dโAmรฉnagement et de Transport de la Province de Benslimane (SATPB), a local development company established in April 2026, as revealed by TelQuel. This institutional vehicle now drives urban development and transport in the province, with clear goals regarding service quality and performance.
A deployment integrated into the 2025โ2029 national program
The modernization of the Benslimane network is part of the vast 2025โ2029 national urban bus transport program, backed by nearly 11 billion dirhams. According to Le360, Benslimane is among the urban areas in the very first phase of this program, alongside Tangier, Tetouan, Fez, Rabat, Marrakech, and Agadirโa phase that provides for 1,487 new buses and explicitly covers โthe acquisition of ticketing systems and Computer-Aided Dispatch / Passenger Information Systems (CAD/AVL/PIS)โ.

What our teams deployed aboard the new buses
Our engineers and technicians worked directly in the field to equip the entire fleet. Every bus in the Benslimane network now features:
1. E-Ticket Bus Smart Ticketing
At the heart of the system, the on-board driver terminal enables real-time ticket sales (single tickets, round trips, passes), on-board receipt printing, and automatic synchronization of sales data. The system accepts all payment methods: cash, prepaid transit cards, and contactless subscription cards.
Regular passengers benefit from options tailored to each profile: unlimited-access student pass, a flagship product in Benslimane, where Foughal Bus offers a dedicated student card, civil servant pass, prepaid card with a configurable number of trips, and multi-line pass.

The Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD/AVL) system centralizes all fleet operational data: GPS location of each bus, compliance with routes and schedules, automatic station detection with trip changes, and tracking of arrivals and departures at stops via the synoptic view. The operator has complete, real-time visibility over operations and can take action before incidents impact passengers.
The system is completed by destination display management, automatic voice announcements upon arrival at stations, remote supervision of all on-board terminals, and a comprehensive reporting module: revenue by line, bus, and period, occupancy rates, and break-even thresholds. Everything integrates natively with our GPS geolocation platform.
3. TarikGo: The mobility app for the residents of Benslimane
For passengers, the most visible daily change is TarikGo, our next-generation ticketing and mobility application, deployed in Benslimane as the networkโs main platform. Designed as a true travel companion, TarikGo covers the entire passenger journey, from trip planning to ticket validation:

The launch took place on schedule, and the network now operates with the entire ticketing and CAD/AVL system activated.

The big day has arrived: the province of Benslimane celebrated the official launch of its new bus network during a ceremony held in the presence of the Governor of the province of Benslimane, elected officials, provincial leaders, and representatives of state services. A historic day for mobility in the province and a moment of pride for our teams, who worked tirelessly to ensure the network was fully operational from day one.
On this occasion, Mr. Mourad Rami, Managing Director of Somayar, accompanied by the project manager, presented to the Governor and attending authorities the work accomplished by our teams: smart ticketing and its onboard terminals installed in every bus, the Computer-Aided Dispatch and Automatic Vehicle Location (CAD/AVL) system that manages the fleet in real time, and the TarikGo app that puts passenger information and ticket purchasing directly into the pocket of every resident. This presentation offered a concrete demonstration of how each technological building block meets the requirements of the new specifications: complete revenue traceability, real-time vehicle tracking, reliable passenger information, and detailed reporting provided to the delegating authority.
The attention given by the Governor and provincial authorities to this project demonstrates the strategic importance of urban transport for Benslimane, at a time when the province is preparing to host world-class events. This institutional support, combined with the commitment of our engineers on the ground, was a key factor in the successful deployment within the specified timeline.
